How to diagnose vehicle fault code by BMW ICOM and ISTA-D software

Today illustrate how to diagnose vehicle fault code by BMW diagnostic tool BMW ICOM and ISTA-D software：Check all car module status，and delete fault code memories.

Tool used:Autonumen.com BMW ICOM A2 WIFI or BMW ICOM NEXT

Software used:BMW ICOM HDD ISTA-D 4.06.31

Step1:Connect vehicle with ICOM,open ISTA-D 4.06.31.

First you need test your car.Go”Vehicle information”→”Control unit tree”→”Star vehicle test”.

Click “Yes”.

Step2:Finished the vehicle test,fault module will show yellow or red.

Yellow means wrong memory,red means no response,whole green means no any problem.

Click “Display fault memory’’,check fault code.

Step3:Go “Vehicle management”→ “Troubleshooting”→”Fault memory”.

You can check the fault illustration with fault code,and double click every item and correspondingly show the detailed description.

(“Calculate test plan” button guides to check fault.)

Just click ”Clear error memory” and “Yes”.If it is not serious problem,all module will turn green.

MB SD Connect C4 change Mercedes time and date in cluster

Here is the instruction on how to change MB Star Diagnostic Tools MB time/date with 2017.12 SDConnect C4 DAS/Xentry software.

Equipment:

I have bought Star Diagnostic multiplexer with DAS/Xentry software on  www.autonumen.com.

I think it’s cheaper than other places.

Follow the steps:
1. Install and activate the software. Software is pre-installed and activated if you get the MB SD Connect C4 multiplexer and Dell D630 laptopbundle package.
2. Connect MB SD C4 system with vehicle via OBD port
3. Run DAS software
4. Come to the main Control units group menu->F3
5. Select Information and communication option->F3
6. Select IC Instrument Cluster->F3
7. Select Diagnosis to plant specifications->F3

8.Select Control unit adaptations->F3

9.Select Control unit adaptations (Variant coding)->F3

10.Select Variantkodierung ->F3

11.Select Datumsanzeige Grundbildebene and turn date on “ein”

12.Select Menu 24 option and activate key dependency to “aktivieren” to active the status.

13.Reboot the cluster. The whole procedure is complete.

Just follow the steps above,you will have a wonderful experience with SD Connect Compact 4.

How to DIY MB Star Diagnosis

This is a post I read on the forum and find that it get lots of good comments, so I think there may be more people need and post on the blog for sharing.

I would help out a few Autonumen.com MB brothers with a couple star diagnostic tutorials…

First, Lowering the car.
Get to the 211 Section.

You will get to the main menu

Then go to Function performed by more than one control unit.

Then Chassis

Then Level adj

Then Suspension

And here is where people have problems, they just go to actuations and then lower it, IT WILL NOT STAY LOWERED this way, you have to go to initial startup

Then Initial with manual settings

Then F2

Here you will see a screen that shows the voltages which correspond to the height of the vehicle. they must be within the given ranges in the left hand column. use the + and – buttons to lower the car (In my screenshot I am in the car with a friend in the back seat, so that is why it is at 3.27, it should not exceed 3) Then hit F2

Enter in these inclination angles and if the car is within the voltages supplied in the page before, the car will accept the new lowered setting, if not it will reject it.

Now, how to activate the unlock and lock beep (honestly, one of the best mods to do if you have an older model e55)
First Control units

Then Body

Then rear SAM

Then Control unit adaptations

Then national version of ATA function

At this screen you will see a pull down menu with a list of different regions on it. The only ones you need to worry about are USA with buzzer and Netherlands. If you choose USA, i will give you three short quick beeps when you lock the car and one short when you unlock it. Netherlands will give you three longer beeps when you lock the car and one long when you unlock it. Personal preference on which one you like. Then hit F3

Then F3(YES)
